Il marmo pi\u00f9 bianco del mondo. La particolare variet\u00e0 di marmo che viene estratta sull\u2019isola greca di Tasso, situata nell\u2019estremo nord del Mar Egeo, ha questa fama ingombrante, che \u00e8 stata tramandata nel corso dei secoli.<\/p>\n

Scopo di questo articolo non \u00e8 per\u00f2 verificare la veridicit\u00e0 dell\u2019affermazione, ma raccontare le inconfondibili certezze che riguardano il marmo Thassos, senza dubbio uno dei pi\u00f9 caratteristici sul mercato: del resto, la purezza del suo bianco \u2013 e di questo ne siamo sicuri \u2013 \u00e8 unica ed insostituibile, a tal punto da aver istituito un collegamento diretto tra l\u2019Antica Grecia e l\u2019interior design contemporaneo.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Scoperto dai fenici, il\u00a0marmo bianco di Thassos<\/strong>\u00a0ha evidenziato da subito un\u2019eleganza tale che i popoli pi\u00f9 rappresentativi del mondo antico lo hanno collocato nella schiera dei materiali privilegiati per la costruzione di templi, sculture e monumenti. \u00c8 stata la civilt\u00e0 greca la prima ad impiegarlo in maniera massiccia, conferendogli una solida reputazione gi\u00e0 nel\u00a0sesto secolo a.C<\/strong>.: in quest\u2019epoca era richiestissimo dalle popolazioni limitrofe per la realizzazione di opere architettoniche.<\/p>\n

Ma \u00e8 con l\u2019avvento dei romani ed, in particolare, dell\u2019impero, che il marmo bianco di Thassos ha conosciuto il suo massimo splendore, andando a comporre opere che ancora oggi sono visitate da turisti ed appassionati della cultura ellenica: celebri esempi sono l\u2019Odeo di Erode Attico<\/strong>, teatro coperto del 174 per esecuzioni musicali nell\u2019Acropoli di Atene, e le statue dell\u2019imperatore Adriano con cui il Tempio di Zeus Olimpio, a 500 metri dalla stessa Acropoli, \u00e8 stato completato tra il 129 e il 131.<\/p>\n

Da qui la storia del\u00a0marmo\u00a0Thassos \u00e8 proseguita passando per gli impieghi pi\u00f9 vari e raffinati fino ai giorni nostri, dove \u00e8 ancora un punto di riferimento del settore lapideo: sull\u2019isola di Tasso ci sono 10 cave per la sua estrazione, dalle quali viene prelevato e poi esportato in tutto il mondo, dal\u00a0Medio Oriente<\/strong>\u00a0al\u00a0Nord America<\/strong>, passando per il Giappone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

A giustificare un tale successo millenario sono tutte le qualit\u00e0 del marmo Thassos. A partire da quelle cromatiche: la grana estremamente fine di questo marmo \u00e8 caratterizzata da un\u00a0bianco omogeneo e cristallino<\/strong>, pressoch\u00e9 privo di venature ed impurit\u00e0. Grazie a ci\u00f2, il materiale lapideo estratto a Tasso ricorda i colori di una sconfinata distesa di neve che, contemplata nella sua immensit\u00e0, trasmette candore e purezza scintillanti.<\/p>\n

Ma il colore non \u00e8 l\u2019unica virt\u00f9 del marmo bianco di Thassos. A renderlo un materiale pi\u00f9 che appetibile pure nel contesto odierno contribuiscono anche la sua\u00a0bassa porosit\u00e0<\/strong>, per cui riesce a resistere con grande efficacia all\u2019umidit\u00e0, e le sue ottime propriet\u00e0 nella dissipazione del calore, dovute al fatto che \u00e8 prevalentemente costituito da dolomite (minerale composto da carbonato di calcio e magnesio).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

La luce nel design contemporaneo ha acquisito un valore fondamentale: qualsiasi progetto moderno cerca di sfruttarla al massimo attraverso la creazione di innovativi punti luce e di sistemi illuminotecnici all\u2019avanguardia, cos\u00ec da\u00a0valorizzare ogni componente degli interni.<\/strong>\u00a0In questo senso il purissimo bianco del marmo Thassos \u00e8 in grado di fare assolutamente la differenza, perch\u00e9, interagendo con le varie fonti lucenti, inonda gli ambienti di una luminosit\u00e0 profonda e spettacolare.<\/p>\n

Ecco perch\u00e9 viene spesso utilizzato per il rivestimento dei muri interni e per la realizzazione di pavimenti, scale e bagni, sia con taglio classico che contemporaneo: questo materiale lapideo risulta infatti molto versatile, riuscendo a nobilitare qualsiasi ambiente con la sua classe.
