Pakistan: Minister for Minerals has inaugurated Management Information System regarding mine and minerals

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Minerals Dr. Amjad Ali Khan has inaugurated Management Information System (MIS) regarding mine and minerals here the other day, said an official handout issued on Tuesday.

Besides, Director General (DG) Minerals, Muntazir Khan, former DG Housing Saifur Rehman Usmani and other officials concerned were also present on the occasion.

The computerized system would provide information regarding mining activities and transportation to help arrest illegal mining in the province.

Speaking on the occasion, the provincial minister directed the imparting of training to all officers concerned of the Mineral Department regarding the procedure within a period of two weeks, so it could be implemented as soon as possible.

He directed the uploading of all minerals related data on the system concerned with immediate effect to help monitor all kind of illegal mining and transportation.

The provincial minister also directed for the establishment of check posts and deployment of essential staff on all important spots. He said the performance monitoring committee of mineral department would keep strict vigilance on all matters and would inform the government of all issues. The committee, he said, would also constantly monitor the performance of officers.

Talking about the think-tank committee regarding minerals, the provincial minister said that the representatives of cement industry, marble, granite, gemstone, minerals and other important sectors would also be included on the panel. Similarly, he said that honest officers of the Mineral Department would also be included in the committee.

The provincial minister directed the initiation of all necessary measures for the achievement of therevenue target. The minister on this occasion also spoke other crucial matters.
