“We wanted to give a sign of tangible solidarity and support to the great effort for the opening and management of schools that the managers, teachers, Ata staff, pupils and their families are doing right now to ensure an essential function of our civil life. Seeing the lessons restart, even with many difficulties, is an important signal because it is a concrete investment act for the future of our whole community. And as Fondazione Marmo we want to help this effort ”. Thus the president Bernarda Franchi explains the new solidarity initiative of the Marble Foundation Onlus which has started a campaign for the delivery of surgical masks (adults) to middle and high schools in the Province of Massa Carrara, who will need them.
Yesterday there was the first delivery to the Staffetti middle school in Massa which contacted the Foundation after the green light from the regional and provincial school offices of the regional school office of the Lucca-Massa Carrara territorial area to inform it of the availability to provide surgical masks (adults) to schools, and the board has thus informed all schools in Massa Carrara of this opportunity.
The first school to apply was, in fact, the Staffetti of Massa. “In recent months – recalls the president Franchi – the Foundation has donated numerous medical equipment and substantial amounts of PPE to hospitals, health centers and many voluntary associations active in combating the Covid19 emergency. And it seemed right, now, to also support our schools which are carrying out a fundamental task for many of our girls and boys and their families”.
