Growth in Egypt’s Marble and Granite Exports in 2024

Egypt’s marble and granite industry has witnessed remarkable growth in 2024, with exports increasing by 16% during the first five months of the year, reaching $198 million, compared to $170 million during the same period in 2023. This significant rise reflects a robust performance in both the value and volume of exports, solidifying Egypt’s position as a key player in the global marble and granite market.

In terms of quantity, exports grew by 10%, amounting to 719,659 tonnes, up from 654,165 tonnes in 2023. The sector’s impressive performance can be attributed to advancements in production techniques, expanded international partnerships, and competitive pricing that has boosted demand for Egyptian marble and granite globally.

Egypt exported marble and granite to 115 countries during the first five months of 2024. However, five key markets accounted for 66.3% of total export value, amounting to $131.305 million. Libya and Saudi Arabia emerged as the largest importers, underscoring their strong trade ties with Egypt. Lebanon ranked third, followed closely by Palestine and Kuwait, further highlighting the importance of regional markets for the industry.
