According to recent surveys by the US Department of Commerce, processed by ICE New York, in the first 7 months 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year, Italy increased its exports of natural stones to the USA by 6.7% (Italian ceramics by 2.8%) while the related exports of machinery and equipment for stone processing decreased by -22.4% (Italian ceramics machinery by -49.2%).
The United States remains the first target market for Italian marble, granite and natural stone and also for the related made in Italy machinery and equipment.
Note that in the first 7 months of 2024, the difference in value between Italian exports of ceramics exported to the USA compared to Italian exports of natural stones, has significantly reduced to a few million US dollars.
In percentage terms, in 2022 the difference between total Italian exports of ceramics and natural stones to the USA was 14.9%, in 2023 it was 6.9%, while in the first seven months of this year it is only 2.8%.
