The third mine monitoring workshop was held in Thessaloniki with great participation in the geotechnical monitoring of mines and quarries.
Modern and state-of-the-art equipment, procedures and software for monitoring landslides in mining and quarrying areas were presented by the world’s largest companies in the sector.
Particular reference was made to Greece and the extensive underground marble exploitation in the quarries of Volakas Drama. Modern technology combined with experience and specialised knowledge has added significant value to the timeless history of white marble in Greece.
It was a great honour, the invitation and the report for the specialized office Marble Consulting and Christos Gravalos regarding the use of modern software for the stability risk analysis of underground marble exploitation.
