According to the latest statistics available, the export of Portuguese stone products in the first 8 months of 2023 reached the figure of over 342 million euros for about 1,379,070 tons, with an increase, compared to the same period in 2022, of 3.67% in value and -0.89% in quantity.
The average price per ton exported in the first 8 months of 2023 stood at 248.13 euro/ton, showing an increase of 4.61% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Recall that, last year, the average final price “in US dollars” per exported ton of natural stone was: India (US$ 158.1 per ton), Portugal (US$ 254.4 per ton), Turkey (US$ 292.1 per ton), Brazil (US$ 612.4 per ton), China (US$ 806 per ton) and Italy (US$ 970.4 per ton).
If we consider the main destination countries, we see France in first place (+11.52%) followed by China (+12.18%) and Spain (+4.84%).
