Pakistan: Sindh Government Launches $100 Million Marble City Karachi Project

In a significant move toward industrial and economic growth, the Sindh government has signed a concession agreement to establish Marble City Karachi, a cutting-edge industrial zone aimed at transforming marble and granite production. Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah presided over the signing ceremony at CM House on Monday, highlighting the project’s potential to drive sustainable development and job creation in the province.

Managed by the Sindh Economic Zones Management Company (SEZMC), Marble City Karachi will be strategically located in Pakistan’s trade and industrial hub, ensuring seamless connectivity to the Port of Karachi, Jinnah International Airport, and major highways. This location is expected to benefit businesses targeting both local and international markets.

The $100 million initiative will include modern infrastructure, utilities, and advanced security measures, such as 24/7 surveillance and emergency management systems, fostering a safe and efficient environment for investors and workers. Special Assistant to the CM on Investment, Syed Qasim Naveed, emphasized that the project is designed to support innovation, enhance exports, and strengthen the value chain of the marble and granite industry.

Expected to generate 10,000 jobs, Marble City Karachi reflects the Sindh government’s commitment to boosting economic activity while establishing the province as a leader in Pakistan’s industrial development.

The meeting also saw participation from top officials, including Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah and CEO of the Sindh Economic Zone Authority (SEZA), Zeerat Shafqat.
