Stonegal, the international natural stone event held at the Instituto Ferial de Vigo (IFEVI) from June 3rd to 5th, has concluded its inaugural edition with highly positive results. A total of 4,000 visitors attended the event, exceeding initial attendance expectations by 33% and reaffirming the Galician sector’s potential as a European benchmark in granite and natural stone.
Over the course of three days, professionals from countries such as Portugal, Italy, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, and Mexico, among others, took part in an event that combined commercial exhibitions, a specialized congress, and experiential activities such as the Stone Gala and the artistic installation “The Color of Stone”, created by architect Belén Moneo, co-founder of the Moneo Brock studio.
“The industry’s support has been overwhelming. We brought together more than 80 companies and nearly 100 brands from seven countries, and we welcomed key specifiers and strategic buyers. Stonegal has exceeded our highest expectations, which motivates us to begin preparations for a second edition to be held in June 2026,” said Alejandro Miras, director of Stonegal.
This first edition of Stonegal received institutional support from the Granite Cluster, Xunta de Galicia, Vigo Free Trade Zone Consortium, Pontevedra Provincial Council, O Porriño Town Council, Abanca, Confindustria Marmomacchine, APROIN, AGEINCO, the Official College of Architects of Galicia, and the Galician Council of Technical Architecture.
“This fair has been much more than a commercial event—it has been a declaration of intent from the Galician natural stone sector. We have shown that Galicia is capable of leading through quality, innovation, sustainability, and international outreach. The business outcomes have been excellent, and many of our members have established valuable contacts and agreements,” stated José Ángel Lorenzo, Secretary General of the Granite Cluster.
The event concludes with an eye on 2026, carrying the commitment to grow, innovate, and continue positioning Galician natural stone on the international map.
