Today marks the highly anticipated opening of Stonegal 2025, the first international natural stone fair held at the Instituto Ferial de Vigo (IFEVI), which runs from June 3 to 5. This inaugural edition has already made a strong impact, attracting close to 2,000 pre-registered professional visitors, and positioning itself as a key industry event for the natural stone sector in Southern Europe.

The exhibition will host 80 companies representing over 100 leading brands from countries such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, Turkey, South Africa, Brazil, and Germany. In addition, international trade delegations from the UAE, Mexico, Morocco, France, and Germany—composed of professionals in architecture, design, and construction—will further enrich the global scope of the fair.

“We are very pleased with the pace of registrations. The sector’s response has exceeded our initial expectations, and everything suggests we will reach our goal of 3,000 professional visitors,” said Alejandro Miras, Director of Stonegal. “This is excellent news for the industry, which needed its own international showcase and a platform to bring together innovation, design, industry, and business.”

Strengthening the Ecosystem: AGEINCO Joins as Strategic Partner

In the lead-up to the event, STONEGAL has secured a key strategic alliance with AGEINCO, the Galician Cluster of Engineering, Consulting, and Technological Services Companies. The collaboration agreement, signed in partnership with the Granite Cluster and the STONEGAL organization, aims to promote knowledge transfer, joint project development, and the increased use of Galician natural stone in sustainable, high-value infrastructure.

“AGEINCO represents a critical sector with which we share a future-oriented vision: innovation, quality, and investment in talent,” added Miras. “Their involvement brings technical strength to Stonegal and opens up new opportunities to establish Galician stone as a strategic material in major architectural and urban developments.”

According to José Ángel Lorenzo, Secretary General of the Granite Cluster, “this agreement allows us to expand the professional ecosystem around natural stone and forge closer ties with the engineering world, with whom we share key challenges such as sustainability, innovation, and internationalization.”

Marta Gallego, Secretary General of AGEINCO, emphasized, “This alliance is focused on facilitating knowledge exchange, encouraging collaborative projects, and promoting the use of Galician natural stone in sustainable, high-added-value infrastructure—both in Galicia and on an international scale.”

What to Expect at Stonegal 2025

STONEGAL is designed as a meeting point for innovation and business, expected to bring together more than 150 companies and over 3,000 industry professionals from around a dozen countries. As the most significant natural stone event held in Spain, the fair will showcase the latest trends and innovations in architecture and interior design using natural stone.

The event features a large exhibition area, a specialized conference program, and the Stone Gala—an exclusive celebration held in a quarry in O Porriño, where the Antonio Palacios Architecture and Stone Award will be presented.

Supported by institutions including the Granite Cluster, Confindustria Marmomacchine, Xunta de Galicia, Zona Franca de Vigo, Concello de O Porriño, Diputación de Pontevedra, Abanca, APROIN, the Official College of Architects of Galicia, the Galician Council of Technical Architecture, and the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Pontevedra (CEP), STONEGAL 2025 is set to become the industry’s go-to hub for discovery, collaboration, and growth.
