The Salone del Mobile is returning to Milan’s Rho Fiera fairgrounds from April 8–13, 2025, reaffirming its status as the world’s premier design event. Since its inception in 1961, the Salone has evolved into a global platform for showcasing cutting-edge furniture and interior innovations, where design meets technology, functionality, and emotional storytelling.

This year’s 63rd edition carries forward the event’s mission of experimentation and collaboration, highlighting how design shapes the evolving concept of home living—from living rooms to outdoor spaces. A key theme for 2025 is the profound connection between humanity and design, underscored by the tagline “Thought for Humans.”

Leading this narrative is a bold new communication campaign developed with Dentsu Creative Italy and New York artist Bill Durgin, known for his sculptural photography. His visuals blend the human form with materials like wood, metal, and bioplastics, expressing the harmony between body, light, and design.

One of the standout events will be “Mother”, a striking installation by visionary artist Robert Wilson, in collaboration with composer Arvo Pärt. Set in Milan’s Castello Sforzesco, this poetic work combines light, sound, and movement to reinterpret Michelangelo’s Pietà Rondanini. Wilson’s return to Milan marks a significant artistic moment and sets the tone for the event’s cultural ambition.

Another highlight is Euroluce 2025, the biennial lighting exhibition, featuring a two-day international forum on April 10–11. It will host prominent figures such as Wilson, Dutch collective DRIFT, solar designer Marjan van Aubel, and Japan’s Kaoru Mende, offering talks and workshops that explore the future of lighting design.

Additionally, the Salone celebrates 25 years of SaloneSatellite, the launchpad for young design talent, with a new book Universo Satellite, capturing the legacy of this creative incubator through over 1,200 images and testimonials.

The 2025 edition promises to be a vibrant intersection of creativity, innovation, and human expression—solidifying Milan once again as the global capital of design.
