Rebels in Stone began as an alternative approach to presenting natural stone and evolved, over the four days of the exhibition, into an immersive experience combining material, art, design, light, music, and human interaction.

Ultimately, this year’s Marmomac proved that when you transform the way marble is presented, you transform the way the audience perceives it.

From Concept to Reality

Stone Group International’s presence at Marmomac this year was driven by a clear objective from the start: to break away from the conventional image of a marble booth and create a space where the materials themselves take center stage.

This choice was entirely intentional.

In an exhibition hall traditionally dominated by white, Rebels in Stone embraced warm, earthy tones, multi-level flooring, and lighting designed to highlight surface textures and finishes. The result was an environment that invited visitors to pause, observe, and explore the material in depth.

The response was immediate. The booth experienced steady traffic from day one to the very end, amidst a Marmomac edition that recorded exceptionally high attendance overall.

Engaging the Senses

If there was one feature that embodied the core philosophy of Rebels in Stone, it was the exterior textured marble wall.

It rapidly became a focal point for visitors, who began capturing photos even during its construction.

The strong reaction to the exterior wall effectively validated the central concept of Rebels in Stone: marble offers an experience that goes far beyond visual appeal. The varied textures invited visitors to get up close, discover the distinct surface finishes, and experience natural stone through multiple senses.

Varying finishes and depths redefined the stone’s appearance, demonstrating the expressive versatility of a natural material.

Among the standout highlights was the Veria Green bookmatch, where two distinct textures—Rockface and Raw Striped—coexisted within the same composition. Equally striking was the presence of Pocahontas, featuring a polished surface paired with Ledge-finished diamonds.

Yet Rebels in Stone extended well beyond the material itself.

Live music, an artistic performance, warm hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere combined to create a complete sensory journey, endowing marble with a new, experiential role. A familiar material was seamlessly linked to art, motion, and human connection, crafting a space where discovering stone became an unforgettable experience.

Commercial Impact

Interest from visitors and international partners was intense throughout the event, with steady commercial activity sustained from opening to closing day.

Beyond the numbers, the key takeaway is that an unconventional presentation did not compromise commercial effectiveness. On the contrary, the featured surfaces, finishes, and applications sparked engaging conversations, genuine interest, and new business leads.

Rebels in Stone successfully operated on two distinct levels: capturing visual attention while generating meaningful commercial opportunities.

Top 5 Finalist at the Marmomac Awards

Among the highlights of this year’s presence was Stone Group International being selected as a Top 5 Finalist in the Vision category at the Marmomac Awards—a category dedicated to honoring companies that reframe and pioneer the future of natural stone.

This distinction underscored the company’s showcase in Verona, adding significant depth to discussions surrounding Rebels in Stone and the contemporary synergy between design and marble.

The Next Chapter Starts in Verona

A successful showcase at Marmomac extends far beyond the exhibition floor.

This year’s participation forged a strong channel of communication with Marmomac, with conversations already underway regarding potential future synergies.

For Stone Group International, Verona served as a vital meeting point for partners, industry professionals, and an international audience that engaged with a fresh side of Greek marble.

Rebels in Stone leaves behind an exhibition marked by high commercial demand, strong acclaim for its design, and a network of new contacts poised to drive future growth. The dialogue surrounding marble continues with fresh ideas, new partnerships, and innovative ways to unleash the potential of natural stone.
