In the first 5 months of 2024, the overall value of Italian exports of natural stones increased by 4.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In particular, in the first 5 months of 2024, Italian exports of “raw materials” increased by 9.1% in value compared to the same period of 2023. In the same first 5 months of 2024 the value of Italian exports of “slabs and finished products” increased by 3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
China (84.9 million euros), remains the first buyer of “raw materials” and increase its imports by 17.5%, while India (17.3 million euros), in second place, decreases its imports from Italy by -15.5%.
At the same time, USA (205.2 million euros) remains the first buyer of “slabs and finished products” and increases its imports by 12.1%, while Germany (52.8 million euros), in second place, decreases its imports from Italy by -13.9%.
It should be noted that, on a general level, the average price of Italian stone products exported abroad in the first 5 months of 2024 reached the average value of 1,091.94 euros per ton compared to 969.89 euros per ton in the same period of last year, with an increase in the average price of exported products of about 12.5%.
