Big 5 Dubai opens today

The Big 5, the largest construction industry trade show in the MEASA (Middle East, Africa, South Asia) region, opens its doors today at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai and will run from 5 to 8 December.

This year’s event comes after the successful 2021 exhibition, during which the organisers decided to return to the original event schedule at the end of the year. Big 5 2022 is expected to host more than 1,200 exhibitors and 36,000 visiting industry professionals and will cover many themes, from construction tools to building interiors and from MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) services to intelligent buildings.

The Big 5 exhibition will also include nine special events. Middle East Concrete will showcase, among other things, batching equipment, cement products, and concrete cutting and repair equipment. Big 5 Heavy will focus on lifting, transportation, PMV and site equipment. Big 5 Solar will present solar technologies and services aimed at the building sector. Urban Design & Landscape Expo will offer urban development and landscaping solutions. FM Expo will reveal the latest trends and tech in the world of facility management. Gulf Glass and WDF events will highlight innovative glass technologies, window, door, and façade systems. HVAC R Expo will display air conditioning, heating, air quality and ventilation solutions. Finally, one of the most anticipated events at the show is Middle East Stone, which will feature a wide array of natural stone, marble, and granite products, with over 15 countries expected to participate. 

The table shows that, among others, 47 Italian companies, 25 Turkish, 14 Greek, 7 Indian and six companies from the United Arab Emirates will participate in Middle East Stone. It is noteworthy that, for the first time, during the exhibition, a special area will operate for the promotion of the Greek Marble sector, on the initiative of Enterprise Greece in cooperation with the Association of Marble Enterprises of Macedonia – Thrace (SEMMTH), to promote Greek Marble abroad in a targeted manner.
