The city of Carrara, renowned worldwide for its prized white marble, has introduced a new tourist guide that promises to become a key resource for locals, tourists, and history enthusiasts alike. Titled “Carrara, the City of Marble,” this guide is the result of an initiative by Davide Bruni, owner of Carrara Marble Tour, who collaborated with the Danae Project to create a unique volume.

The guide, available in both Italian and English, is presented in a pocket-sized format of 130 pages and features over 100 color photographs that capture the beauty and history of Carrara. Designed to satisfy the curiosity of a wide clientele, estimated at around 30,000 visitors per year, this publication stands out for its balance between conciseness and depth of content. “We have created a concise yet comprehensive product,” explains Bruni. The texts were crafted by Ilaria Baratta and Federico Giannini, director of Finestre sull’Arte, while the photography and editorial project were overseen by Danae.

The guide aims to offer a complete overview of the city, covering various aspects of the area. One section is entirely dedicated to marble, the element that has made Carrara famous worldwide, with insights into extraction techniques and the artistic and architectural applications of this extraordinary material. Another part of the guide explores the historic center, with particular attention to the most significant sites and artworks that enrich the city.

For history and culture enthusiasts, the guide also offers a series of thematic itineraries that allow visitors to discover Carrara from different perspectives. Among these are routes such as “Anarchic Carrara,” which delves into the city’s rebellious past, “Roman Marble from Luni to Fossacava,” which traces the ancient history of marble, and “Carrara between the 19th and 20th centuries,” offering a glimpse into the historical and social evolution of the city.

Available at the Carrara Marble Tour point of sale in Fantiscritti, the guide will soon be distributed in bookstores across the region. This publication is not just a tourist product but a work that aims to enhance and better promote Carrara’s rich history, making it accessible to a broader audience. Thanks to this guide, both visitors and residents will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the history and beauty of the “City of Marble,” discovering details and curiosities that make Carrara a truly unique place in the world.
