Switzerland is an important market for Finished Natural Stone Products globally. Which were the ones they imported most in 2017?

Stonenews.eu, after studying the statistical results the International Trade Centre and the National Statistical Institutes, is presenting the Finished Natural Stone Products Switzerland imported most in 2017 based on the HS Codes.

From 2001 to 2014 Switzerland has shown positive fluctuations in Finished Natural Stone Products imports. Since 2015 imports have declined, performance continued in 2017 as well, according to the HS Codes.

From Finished Natural Stone Products that Switzerland imported in 2017 the ones that stand out, as it happened previously as well, were the Finished Granite Products with HS Code 680293. HS Codes 680299 και 680291 also hold significant shares.

The table below is presenting in brief Switzerland’s Finished Natural Stone Products imports by HS Code comparing their modifications in value, quantity and price per ton between 2016 – 2017 as well as the value and quantity shares out of the total 2017 imports.

As seen in the table above, in 2017 Switzerland imported at higher prices per ton than in 2016, and more specifically for HS Code 680291 the increase was +14,89%, for 680293 +10,95%, for 680229 +8,09%, for 680221 +7,77% and for 680299 +6,09%. On the contrary, lower prices per ton were achieved for HS Code 680210 with -35,92%, for 680223 with -24,03%, for 680300 with -11,16% and for 680292 with -9,9%.

In conclusion, it is worth mentioning that Italy and Germany are Switzerland’s main suppliers of Finished Natural Stone Products.
