India’s granite and marble exports in 2022’s first quarter

The problems caused by pandemic do not appear to adversely affect India’s exports, as a five-year high was recorded in the value and quantity of its granite exports in 2022’s first quarter. In marble exports, a five-year record was recorded in export value while quantity remained high.

The table below shows the changes (%) in the value and quantity of India’s total exports (raw and processed) between Q1 2021 and Q1 2022:

In marble exports, the rise was due to increasing exports of processed marble, at which a five-year record was set at value and average price per tonne. In exports of raw marbles, a five-year record was recorded in terms of average price while value and quantity remained high.
