In 2023, Indian exports of marble, granite, slate and natural stones decreased in value – compared to 2022 – by 8.6% (for a total value of approximately 1,884 million US$) and decreased by 7.9% in volume.
It should be noted that the first place in the total of the Indian materials most exported abroad is confirmed by worked natural stone which represents over 62.8% in value of all Indian exports of natural stones (-10.7% compared to 2022), followed by raw granite with over 32.7% of total Indian exports (-5.7% compared to the previous year).
Interestingly, the average price per ton of total Indian natural stone exports (158.89 US $ per ton) decreased by 0.8% compared to the previous year.
Recall that last year the “final” average price per ton of natural stone exported was: India (US $ 158.89 per ton), Portugal (US $ 283.76 per ton), Turkey (US $ 307.04 per ton), Spain (US $ 558.1 per ton), Brazil (US $ 610.37 per ton), China (US $ 815.56 per ton) and Italy (USD 1092.74 per ton).
