Many of the masterpieces of Michelangelo were made of the Pietrasanta marble
A little further beyond the Tuscan coast lies a picturesque town with whitewashed mountains, Pietrasanta. These mountains are made of high quality marble, which has attracted famous sculptors for years.
Many of the masterpieces of Michelangelo were made of this marble in the 15th century, and today more than 40 artefacts of marble processing still exist in the city.
