According to the latest statistics available, the export of Portuguese stone products in the first 11 months of 2023 reached the figure of over 458 million euros for about 1,787,385 tons, with an increase, compared to the same period in 2022, of 0.59% in value and -4.47% in quantity.
The average price per ton exported in the first 11 months of 2023 stood at 256,52 euro/ton, showing an increase of 5.29% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Recall that, last year, the average final price “in US dollars” per exported ton of natural stone was: India (USD $ 158.1 per ton), Portugal (USD $ 254.4 per ton), Turkey (USD $ 292.1 per ton), Brazil (US $ 612.4 per ton), China (USD 806 per ton) and Italy (USD 970.4 per ton).
54% of Portuguese natural stone exports go to the European market while the extra-European market represents 46% of the total exported.
If we consider the main destination countries, we see France in first place (+ 7.9%) followed by China (+17.6%) and Spain (+ 0.60%).
