According to the latest available statistics, the export of Portuguese stone products in 2023 reached the figure of over 487 million euros for approximately 1,890,302 tons, with a slight decrease, compared to 2022, of 0.04% in value and -5.03% in quantity.
The average price per ton exported in 2023 stood at 257.96 euro/ton, showing an increase of 5.24% compared to 2022.
Recall that, in 2022, the average final price “in US dollars” per ton of exported natural stone was: India (USD $ 158.1 per ton), Portugal (USD $ 254.4 per ton), Turkey (USD $ 292.1 per ton), Brazil (US $ 612.4 per ton), China (USD 806 per ton) and Italy (USD 970.4 per ton).
53.6% of Portuguese natural stone exports go to the European market while the extra-European market represents 46.4% of the total exported.
If we consider the main destination countries, we see France in first place (+ 6.38%) followed by China (+18.26%).
