Konza Technopolis 

Konza Technology City or Konza Technopolis is one of the upcoming smart cities in Africa. The smart city is being constructed in the Eastern part of Kenya. The City will cost a big but worth it $14.5 billion. According to the city’s website, “Konza will be a sustainable, world-class technology hub and major economic driver for Kenya.

The project is part of the country’s Vision 2030 blueprint. It is expected to generate about 17,000 direct high-value jobs, and a further 68,000 indirect jobs once completed.

Eko Atlantic, Nigeria

Eko Atlantic, officially Nigeria International Commerce city is a planned smart city of Lagos State, Nigeria, being constructed on land reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean.Upon completion, the new peninsula is anticipating at least 250,000 residents and a daily flow of 150,000 commuters. The development is also designed to help in stopping the erosion of Lagos State’s coastline.

The smart City will also have parks, universities, schools, a stadium, hotels, and an industrial complex and will be fully completed by 2030.The city will be 100% green. The crypto city is located on 2,000 acres near the ocean, less than an hour’s drive south of the new international airport in Dakar.

Hope City, Ghana

HOPE City is a planned technology park to be built at Prampram, Greater Accra Region, Ghana.It is being undertaken by Rlg Communications. HOPE City is an acronym for Home, Office, People and Environment. The project is expected to be completed in three years and is estimated to cost $10 billion;one of its towers will become Africa’s tallest building.The project is an initiative of Mr. Roland Agambire, Group Chairman of the AGAMS Group of Companies and CEO of Rlg Communications Ltd, in collaboration with the Government of Ghana, as part of the national development policy framework, turning Ghana into a knowledge-society and an active player in the global economy.

Vision City, Rwanda

Vision City is also one of the upcoming smart cities in Africa. The city is multi-phase housing development in Kigali, Rwanda currently being built by Ultimate Developers LTD for the Rwanda Social Security Board. At 4500 units and a total cost of 150 million USD it is the largest residential housing project in the country’s history. The first 500 units were completed in 2017.he project is located in Gaculiro, Kinyiya sector in Kigali’s Gasabo District. The tract of land for the entire project is 158 hectares. Before work could begin 3000 residents were relocated, some of whom had to be forcibly removed
