Brazil’s exports of marble, granite and ceramics in the nine months of 2021

Despite the severe impact of the pandemic, Brazil managed to increase exports of marble, granite and ceramics in the nine months of 2021. The improvement of the epidemiological situation and the increase in demand from the USA positively affected Brazil’s exports.

Specifically, the exports of marble and ceramics for the nine months of 2021 are the highest in the last five years. Granite exports, on the other hand, continued to decline.

In the table below we see the changes (%) in the value of exports of marble, granite and ceramics of Brazil between the nine months of 2020 – 2021 and between first, second and third trimester of 2021

In the table we observe that between the nine months of 2020 – 2021 the growth of exports of marble and ceramics is much higher than granite. Between the trimesters, marble exports were higher than those of ceramics and granites.

The increase in marble is mainly due to the increase in exports of finished marble to the USA. The lower increase in granite exports is due to the small increase in exports of finished granite products to the USA. and slabs and blocks to China. The main reason for the increase in exports of ceramics is an increase in exports to the USA. and the neighboring countries of Latin America, Paraguay, Argentina, Dominican Republic.

Marble Products:
