Four new models of loaders – excavators, based on success of the popular series F2.
Caterpillar announces four new excavator-based models to the success of the Cat® F2 series of loaders – excavators. The new series consists of the Cat® 428, 432, 434 and 444 models, which replace the machines 428F2, 432F2, 434F2 and 444F2 respectively.
The new line of Cat loaders-excavators offers similar model platforms to ensure a common base on components and similar functionalities in all its range. Cat’s new backhoe loaders now carry the new Cat logo on combined with a new simplified nomenclature without the model alphanumeric suffix of the model.
More efficiency
Cat’s new backhoe loaders carry improved anti-pollution engines Cat C3.6 technology and are fully compliant with EU Stage emission standards V of the EU. The anti-pollution technology system of the new backhoe loaders incorporates SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology catalyst for maintenance free, DPF (Diesel) particle retention filter Particulate Filter) while using DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) liquid. Reducing operating costs, the new Cat C3.6 engines, by up to 10% improved fuel efficiency compared to F2 series engines, offer exactly the same performance characteristics (power – torque). All models of the new series of loaders – excavators have four-wheel drive as standard equipment with differential lock on rear wheels for improved adhesion when soil conditions are poor.
The ability to select power management features offers the operator Economy Mode and Standard Mode options for good engine performance and greater fuel economy or Standard Plus Mode to enhance the performance of the machine, maximizing the speeds of its components excavator. A new powershift gearbox will be available as an option on the 428 and 434 and will be standard equipment on the 432. The new type gearbox powershift allows on-the-go easier gear change for the operator. The 444 will still be equipped with a fully automatic transmission as basic equipment. All new models have adjustable auxiliary hydraulic flow in the system excavation so that the hydraulic system of the machine can be adjusted depending on the functional requirements of the work components.
The new Cat series can be equipped either from the factory or on site installation of a kit, with optional Integrated loader quick connectors Tool (IT) for quick changes of work tools. New backhoe loaders are compatible with outgoing range components F2, so there is no need to buy new components, reducing operating cost. Offering the possibility of remote monitoring of data through VisionLink®, the latest Cat Product Link. Is available as standard in these new models to maximize machine uptime. Customers can customize the operating data of the machine collected, such as fuel use, payload summaries, Scheduled service reminders and error code alerts to meet specific needs for improved fleet management.
Improved features
- The new cylinders of the loading system, available as an option, at 428 and 434, offer up to 25 percent more lifting capacity to improve operating efficiency.
- In the new excavators loaders 428 and 434, for its operation excavation system, Joystick type controls may be selected, as optional.
- As a basic choice, in models 432 and 444, the controls, type joystick of loading system and system movements Excavators are now mounted on the operator’s seat. The choice it gives particularly increased ergonomic capabilities to the operator as well is allowed via the feature (Dual Mode), the operation of the loader or of the excavator to be carried out with the operator facing at an angle, without there is a need to change the position of the machine or its direction seat. Additionally due to the adjustment of the position of the controls more space inside the cabin is ensured, ensuring one more comfortable and ergonomic user interface with improved visibility. The news controls on the Cat loader excavator seat are electricity, therefore no piping is promoted by inside the operator’s seat or inside the cab. By the way this avoids the increase of the operating environment temperature as well as the risk of plumbing failure is completely eliminated piping that could lead to leaks inside the cab.
- The redesigned console information system (available as basic default) integrates analog machine meters with one LCD color information display, controlled via soft keys simple menu navigation. Pop-up info icons offer fast navigation between modes while diagnostics full-text descriptions simplify troubleshooting and the maintenance of the machine.
- For the first time in Cat excavator loaders, it is available as an option, LCD touch screen that allows the operator to interact with the machine to change quickly basic functions such as setting excavation controls (pattern control) and plumbing settings of the system.
- The improved safety system of the new series shuts down the engine, the gearbox and the hydraulic system until one is introduced, valid password via the LCD operator control screen, preventing unauthorized access to the machine.
The new 428, 432, 434 and 444 will set the new standard in comfort and performance of loaders – excavators!
