Egypt’s exports of building materials up by 36% in 4 months

Egypt’s exports of building materials rose in the first four months of 2022 by about 36 percent to record $2.558 billion compared to $1.883 billion in the same period last year.

Ten countries absorbed 65.5 percent of the exports of this sector, according to the monthly report of the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractory & Metallurgy Industries which was issued on Thursday.

The UAE came at the top of importers with its imports standing at $456 million in the first four months of 2022.

Canada came in the second position followed by Italy, Ghana, Saudi Arabia, the US, Algeria, Spain and Libya.

Marble and granite in Q1-22

Meanwhile, in the first quarter of 2022, Egypt has exported marble and granite at a value of $86 million.
