The Greek Marble Association presents the Greek identity of marble on the international stage in Verona
As part of the 60th anniversary edition of Marmomac in Verona—one of the most significant international exhibitions for natural stone, architecture, and design—the Greek Marble Association presents the “Greek Marble Ouzeri,” a distinct initiative for the international promotion of Greek marble and modern Greek identity.
The Greek Marble Ouzeri represents a fresh approach to presenting Greek marble. Drawing inspiration from the traditional Greek ouzeri as a timeless gathering place of hospitality and connection, the project translates this concept into the realm of design. It creates an environment where marble is presented not merely as a high-aesthetic material, but as a living element of everyday experience.
Through architecture, hospitality, and social interaction, the Greek Marble Ouzeri highlights the timelessness, authenticity, and modern dynamic of Greek marble. This approach connects the material’s multi-millennial history with contemporary architecture and design, showcasing Greek marble as a material that continues to evolve and inspire.
The project is based on a concept by the architectural firm tremeEats and forms part of the broader initiative “GREEK MARBLE | Then. Now. Forever.”, which aims to strengthen international recognition and promote Greek marble in global markets, contemporary architecture, and design.
The presence of the Greek Marble Ouzeri at Marmomac 2026 is realized with the support of Enterprise Greece and the Greek Marble Association, reaffirming the strategic importance of an organized, coordinated international promotion for Greek marble.
