The Village is a new collection and at the same time, a special initiative designed to tell over time, starting in March 2021, the themes of contemporary living. The initiative by Gabriele Salvatori, CEO of the homonymous company, consists of imaginary houses created in collaboration with internationally renowned designers and architects, different in culture and geographical origin.

The first pieces of the collection are endorsed by Patricia Urquiola, who for The Village designed Kore, consisting of two residences: Alma, in Rosa Portogallo, with intense colors and veins, and Petra, in Travertine, marble material, raw to the touch.

“The project The Village is a reflection on domestic spaces, now increasingly changing. The house has become the center of our lives, our city, our habitat. We have all become domestic navigators and we try to orient ourselves to these new latitudes of living. I chose to call my village Kore, a poetic reference to the Greek statues representing young women facing adulthood. The two types of house present in it are Petra and Alma, evocative of feelings of domestic warmth and intimacy. I wanted to represent two different worlds and two different aesthetics, in fact complementary to one another.” – Patricia Urquiola

Other designers currently involved in the initiative are, in addition to Patricia Urquiola: Rodolfo Dordoni, Kengo Kuma, Elisa Ossino, John Pawson, Vincent Van Duysen, Yabu Pushelberg.
