According to the latest statistics available, the export of Portuguese stone products in the first 7 months of 2024 reached the figure of over 289 million euros for about 1,121,467 tons, with a decrease, compared to the same period in 2023, of -6.54% in value and -9.06% in quantity.
The average price per ton exported in the first 7 months of 2024 stood at 257,93 euro/ton, showing an increase of 2.77% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Recall that last year the “final” average price per ton of natural stone exported was: India (US $ 158.89 per ton), Portugal (US $ 283.76 per ton), Turkey (US $ 307.04 per ton), Spain (US $ 508.01 per ton), Brazil (US $ 610.37 per ton), China (US $ 815.56 per ton) and Italy (USD 1092.74 per ton).
53.18% of Portuguese natural stone exports go to the European market while the extra-European market represents 46.82% of the total exported.
If we consider the main destination countries, we see France in first place (+7.09%) followed by China (-5.57%) and Spain (-11.01%).
