According to the latest statistics available, the export of Portuguese stone products in the first 3 months of 2024 reached the figure of over 109 million euros for about 416,939 tons, with a decrease, compared to the same period in 2023, of -16.81% in value and -19.23% in quantity.
The average price per ton exported in the first 3 months of 2024 stood at 262.34 euro/ton, showing an increase of 3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Recall that last year the “final” average price per ton of natural stone exported was: Portugal (US $ 283.76 per ton), Turkey (US $ 307.04 per ton), Spain (US $ 558.1 per ton), Brazil (US $ 610.37 per ton), China (US $ 815.56 per ton) and Italy (US $ 1,092.74 per ton).
53.2% of Portuguese natural stone exports go to the European market while the extra-European market represents 46.8% of the total exported.
If we consider the main destination countries, we see France in first place (-3.58%) followed by China (-6.79%) and Spain (-16.97%).
