Official statistical data regarding Spain’s natural stone exports during the first quarter of 2026 reflect a period of adjustment for the sector. Compared to the same period last year, a general decline in export volumes is recorded, which is nonetheless accompanied by varied trends in average prices per ton depending on the product category.

Marble Market Data

The marble sector recorded a decrease in both value and volume during the first quarter of the year. Specifically, the total value of exports stood at €35,790,628.00, representing a decline of 12.37%, while the total quantity fell by 18.08%, reaching 78,386.98 tons.

The breakdown by product category shows the following:

  • Processed Marble: The value of exports amounted to €26,885,198.00 (-12.18%), while the quantity decreased by 26.84% to 31,562.10 tons. Conversely, the average price per ton increased by 20.05%.

  • Raw Marble: This category recorded a 12.97% drop in value (€8,905,430.00) and a 10.88% decrease in quantity (46,824.88 tons), with the average price per ton showing a slight decline of 2.34%.

Granite Market Data

In the granite sector, total revenues showed greater stability despite the decrease in exported quantities. The total value reached €27,166,816.00, marking a limited decline of 2.99%, while export volume decreased by 21.27% to 119,858.70 tons.

The individual categories moved as follows:

  • Processed Granite: This formed the main bulk of revenues for the category, with a value of €17,176,858.00 (-7.51%). The quantity fell slightly by 3.13% (40,310.84 tons), while the average price per ton decreased by 4.52%.

  • Raw Granite: The largest percentage decrease in volume was observed here, dropping by 28.10% to 79,547.86 tons. However, the value was sustained at €9,989,958.00 (-5,89%), as the average price per ton increased by 47.28%.

General Quarterly Assessment

Data for the first quarter of 2026 show that the Spanish natural stone trade is operating in an environment of lower international demand in terms of quantity. Nevertheless, fluctuations in average prices—particularly the increases in processed marble and raw granite—acted as a balancing factor, limiting the overall revenue losses for exporting companies.
