The evolution of German’s marble-granite imports: January – June 2020

Following our previous report on the evolution of German marble imports, Stonenews.eu presents the evolution of the country’s marble and granite imports for the first half of 2020, compared to the same period last year, as well as in the last half of 2019, examining the value and quantity of imports.

In terms of granite imports, there was a decline in the first half of 2020 compared to last year, reaching a value of -18.54% and a quantity of -14.36%. A decrease was also recorded in the imports of finished marble, in value of -16.3%, but in quantity there was a small increase of 2.11%.

Regarding the last half of 2019, the first half of 2020, there is a decline but it is smaller in both materials. In particular, with regard to the import of granite, the decrease in value is of the order of -10.92% and in quantity of -4.35%. In the marble imports, a small decrease is recorded, -14.51% in value, but again it is not accompanied by a decrease in quantity -as in relation to the first half of 2019- but by an increase, by 7.29%.
