From a small family business in 1965, Thrace Marble S.A. has evolved today into a marble industry with intense activity in the Greek and international markets, occupying a significant position in the economy of Xanthi.

Thrace Marble was founded in 1965 and started its activity with minimal equipment for cutting and laying marble. In 1975, the company moved to its current, privately owned facilities (over 30,000 square metres) in Petrochori, Xanthi. In 2000, the company upgraded its mechanical equipment to become an industrial plant for total marble processing and continues to evolve today.

For many years, the company has been supplying several engineering companies and extensive public works, as it has a large production capacity. Thrace Marble’s large quantities of semi-white marble imports from the island of Marmara in Turkey, combined with the large amounts of semi-white Greek marbles it processes and produces, have established the company on a national and global level.

Specifically, outside the Greek borders, the company is present in Central Europe, North African countries, America, Cyprus, the Middle East, Korea and many other countries.

However, what matters most to Thrace Marble is its people. They are its most important resource and cannot compare to the development of its mechanical equipment. It draws its inspiration from its human resources and its customers, and in combination with the love of stone, it achieves the best possible result.

Mr Stelios Daskalopoulos

From its beginning until today, the company’s philosophy has been the same: the quality of the products available on the market. As Mr Daskalopoulos told Stonenews.eu, “Thrace Marble’s marbles are the result of many years of hard work and experience on stone. Our materials have character and quality. Our end result must always reward the consumer who lives through them.”

The business started, almost sixty years ago, with zeal and aiming at quality by Daskalopouloi brothers. In 1990, Mr Stelios Daskalopoulos, son of Κosmas, became the company’s director with a vision of making the company a landmark in marble in Greece and abroad. Today, with his two sons, Κosmas and George, by his side, he continues to control and manage the company.
