On Monday, December 5, the Middle East Stone exhibition, which is part of The Big 5 Dubai, opened its doors to visitors in Dubai for four days, with a particularly strong delegation representing Greek Marble. In addition to the extensive participation of Greek Marble Enterprises, for the first time at this exhibition, the integrated brand identity “GREEK MARBLE” is presented through a specially designed stand. With the support and planning of Enterprise Greece, in cooperation with the Association of Marble Enterprises of Macedonia and Thrace, Greece, the existence of a brand for Greek Marble with strategic planning for its promotion and showcasing to the public worldwide is now a reality.
The inauguration of the impressive Greek participation in The Big 5 Dubai took place in a specially designed area dedicated to the Greek Marble, with an opening event organized by Enterprise Greece and the Embassy of Greece in the UAE in the presence of all Greek exhibitors. Mrs Betty Alexandropoulou, Executive Director and Board Member of Enterprise Greece, and the Ambassador of Greece to the UAE, the Honorable Mr Antonis Alexandridis, welcomed all 60 exhibitors of the Greek delegation.
On Tuesday, December 6, Enterprise Greece, the Greek Embassy in the UAE and the Association of Marble Enterprises of Macedonia and Thrace, Greece, organized at the same venue another special event dedicated to Greek Marble, inviting guests – “buyers” and special partners of the industry to celebrate with them a new era for Greek Marble that begins with this exhibition. This stand was, admittedly, the most impressive stand of the Middle East Stone exhibition. It was a remarkable space, designed to represent the new industry brand “GREEK MARBLE”, with the tagline “Then. Now. Forever.” and reflects the history of the Greek Marble and the central theme of the national industry pavilion.
The timelessness and uniqueness of the Greek Marble can be encountered in the multiple exhibits and points of the pavilion: a replica of a bust of a Cycladic deity from Panormos Tinos’ Preparatory Vocational School of Fine Arts, design fixtures made of Greek Marble, impressive photographs, marble flooring and cladding of various varieties of Greek Marble from all over the country, a piece of a raw block of white marble, and rich, informative material, are some of the stimuli that the visitors of the pavilion encountered.
At the Greek Marble event, the Executive Director and Board Member of Enterprise Greece, Mrs Betty Alexandropoulou, said: “It is with great pleasure here in this specially designed booth at The Big 5 Dubai, that we are accentuating the branding of Greek Marble in the global market. Enterprise Greece and the Association of Marble Enterprises of Macedonia and Thrace, Greece, have collaborated with the shared goal of enhancing the extroversion of this emblematic sector for Greek exports and increasing the added value of the final product. The international exhibition The Big 5 Dubai, the largest in the Middle East for the building materials sector, is the ideal platform for the launch of this project, with thousands of trade guests visiting the special stand for the promotion of Greek Marble and being informed about its qualitative characteristics and its history through the centuries. Enterprise Greece will support the journey of “GREEK MARBLE” to all the important markets of the world.”
The President of the Association of Marble Enterprises of Macedonia and Thrace, Greece, Mrs Ioulia Haida, said: “The Association of Marble Enterprises of Macedonia and Thrace, Greece, with a vision to establish a unique identity for Greek Marble and the development of a national promotion and communication strategy to support the exports of our industry, which already ranks Greece in the 4th global ranking, managed today, with the full support of Enterprise Greece, for which we are grateful, to highlight the famous Greek Marble as it deserves, with strong branding. We are sure that today an important chapter begins, which introduces new horizons and perspectives for Greek Marble. The history of our country has been built and preserved with Greek Marble, while the art of quarrying, processing, and sculpting of marble and the knowledge of the processes involved in each of these stages are particularly developed in our country. Greek Marble is an important element of the cultural heritage of Greece and the whole world.”
