Italy confirms its leadership position in the global natural stone and technology market, ranking second in international exports, according to official data presented during the 2026 Confindustria Marmomacchine General Assembly.

Based on data released by the Association’s Honorary President, Flavio Marabelli, the value of Italian exports reached US$ 2,428 million. China remains at the top of the global ranking, leading the sector with exports amounting to US$ 3,978 million.

This performance highlights the central role that the Italian production model maintains in an intensely competitive international environment. The momentum of Italian companies is firmly based on the high quality of raw materials, specialized know-how, advanced production capacity, and the strong recognition of the “Made in Italy” brand in global markets.

In the global exporter rankings, behind China and Italy, follow major sector powers such as Turkey, India, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, and Greece.

Despite pressure from emerging markets and geopolitical challenges in international trade, the Italian marble and processing machinery ecosystem continues to serve as the absolute point of reference for the global natural stone industry.
