Saudi Arabia’s construction and real estate sectors showcased their strongest momentum to date during Cityscape Global 2025, held in Malham, Riyadh—an event that underscored the Kingdom’s expanding role as one of the world’s most dynamic construction markets. Majed Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipalities and Housing and Chairman of the Real Estate General Authority, led the closing ceremony, where total real estate transactions surpassed an impressive $63.2 billion.
The scale of investment activity reflects the Kingdom’s rapidly evolving construction landscape, driven by large-scale urban developments, innovative building technologies, and ambitious national transformation goals under Saudi Vision 2030.
A Construction Market in Rapid Expansion
This year’s Cityscape brought together 577 exhibitors, including 265 international firms at the forefront of global construction, engineering, and urban innovation. The strong international presence signals growing confidence in Saudi Arabia’s construction market, which is currently one of the fastest-growing globally, fueled by megaprojects such as NEOM, Diriyah, the Red Sea developments, and major housing and infrastructure initiatives across the country.
Al-Hogail emphasized that the event’s outcomes reflect not only the resilience of the Saudi real estate sector but also the maturing investment ecosystem that supports the construction industry. The $63.2 billion in transactions, he noted, highlights the reliability and attractiveness of the sector for investors, demonstrating the steady flow of capital into new developments, construction partnerships, and long-term infrastructure commitments.
Innovation Driving the Future of Construction
A key focus of Cityscape Global 2025 was the integration of advanced construction technologies. Exhibitors showcased cutting-edge solutions ranging from modular and off-site construction methods to high-efficiency building materials and digital infrastructure for smart city planning.
Proptech startups also played a significant role, presenting digital tools that support asset management, automated project planning, real-time construction monitoring, and sustainable building strategies. These innovations reflect Saudi Arabia’s commitment to modernizing the sector, increasing productivity, and reducing construction timelines—critical factors in meeting the country’s massive development targets.
Strengthened Public–Private Collaboration
Al-Hogail highlighted that this year’s achievements represent the combined efforts of governmental bodies and the private sector. The government’s regulatory reforms, increased transparency, and emphasis on sustainability have enhanced investor confidence and enabled construction firms—both local and international—to participate in some of the region’s most transformative projects.
The minister emphasized that the partnerships formed at the exhibition reinforce Saudi Arabia’s mission to create future-ready cities. With a focus on livability, economic diversification, and innovative building practices, the Kingdom is shaping a construction sector that is globally competitive and aligned with long-term sustainability goals.
A New Chapter in Urban Development
Cityscape Global 2025 reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s expanding influence in the global construction arena. The event not only celebrated major transaction milestones but also demonstrated the Kingdom’s determination to redefine urban development standards—making it an increasingly attractive destination for investors, developers, and construction technology pioneers.
As Saudi Arabia continues its unprecedented wave of infrastructure and real estate development, the construction sector stands at the heart of the nation’s transformation, poised for even greater growth in the years ahead.
