Egyptian marble and granite exports in the first ten months of 2022

The Arab country’s exports of marble and granite increased by 8% yearly from January to October 2022, recording $295 million from $273 million.

Libya topped granite and marble importers with $69.60 million in during the first ten months of 2022, up 3% annually from $67.36 million, followed by Saudi Arabia with $40.29 million, a yearly growth of 20%.

On the other hand, granite and marble exports to South Korea dropped by 11% during January-October 2022 to $19.73 million, compared to $22.13 million in the corresponding period in 2021.

Egypt’s exports of jewellery and precious gemstones surged by 47% during the first ten months of 2022 to $1.32 billion, compared to $901 million in the prior-year period.

Egyptian jewellery was exported to 43 countries during the January-October 2022 period, 16 of which were new to the list compared to the year-ago period.

These countries include Tanzania, Singapore, Romania, Austria, Pakistan, Serbia, Qatar, Switzerland, Hong Kong, India, Sudan, and Morocco, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) cited the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractory, and Metallurgy Industries’ (ECBM) monthly report.

Canada led the jewellery importers from Egypt with a value of $666 million during the first ten months of 2022, followed by the UAE and Germany with $656 million and $415,000, respectively.

Cement

From January-October 2022, cement exports amounted to $465 million, an annual leap of 41% from $402 million.

Ghana led the cement importers from Egypt with a value of $128.54 million, followed by Côte d’Ivoire with $65.20 million and Cameroon with $51.83 million.
