Over 50 Years of History and Evolution
The story of Kozani Marble Papathymiopoulos began in 1973, when John Papathymiopoulos founded one of the first marble enterprises in Kozani, Northern Greece.
In 1979, together with his brothers Vangelis and Thimios, they established the company under its current name, focusing on the renowned Tranovalto Marble and creating a fully integrated production unit at the 12th km of the Servia–Tranovalto road.
Through continuous development, the company expanded its quarrying activities to include the Roditis Quarry, known for producing marble of exceptional homogeneity and quality.
In 1997, Kozani Marble Papathymiopoulos made an important step towards internationalization by establishing a processing plant in Beirut, Lebanon, promoting Greek Kozani Marbles throughout the Middle East.
That same year, the company opened a Marble Exhibition Center in Athens, bringing its products closer to clients in Southern Greece.
In 2020, a new quarry was opened in the Kozani region, introducing MAROKO, a pioneering calcareous sandstone that reflects the company’s continuous pursuit of innovation and excellence.
