Real estate developer, Matteson Capital, and architecture firm, Architects Orange (AO), are pursuing a height variance in Oklahoma City for The Boardwalk at Bricktown.

If approved, the development’s Legends Tower will stand as the tallest in the U.S. and fifth tallest globally, reaching 581 m to symbolize the year of Oklahoma’s admission as the 46th state.

Spanning 1.5 million m2, the mixed-use project will include a Dream Hotel by Hyatt, two towers with residential serviced condominiums, 1,776 residential units, and 33,528 m2 of retail space. The supertall tower’s top floors will host an observatory, restaurant, and bar with panoramic city views.

The design emphasizes extraordinary public spaces, including a 5,182-m2 lagoon and water feature surrounded by a boardwalk, along with expansive roof decks.

The project team includes development partners ThinkBox and Legends Capital Management, structural engineers Thorton Tomasetti, civil engineers Johnson & Associates, fire life safety and energy consultant Siemens, general contractor Hensel Phelps, and hotel management companies Hyatt and Dream.
