This year’s Marmomac Meets Academies introduced Fabula Litica, an imaginative journey through the creative and symbolic power of natural stone — a reflection on the delicate balance between tradition and innovation. The project invited visitors to rediscover stone not as a static material, but as a living medium where memory, technology, and artistry converge.
At the heart of the installation stood the “Veiled Maiden”, gracefully sheltered beneath a monumental, tree-like structure in steel and stone. This central piece embodied memory, protection, and rebirth, evoking the timeless resilience of stone while suggesting its potential for transformation and renewal.
Surrounding the Maiden, prototypes and experimental installations showcased a seamless dialogue between craftsmanship, advanced technologies, and academic research. The result was an expressive environment where stone became a language of connection, bridging ancient narratives and future visions.
The exhibition came alive through the creativity of young designers from Italian and international universities, who reinterpreted natural stone as a contemporary storytelling medium—one that continues to evolve with human imagination.

Curated by Prof./Arch. Giuseppe Fallacara, the project was supported by the Technical and Scientific Committee composed of Giuseppe Fallacara, Ilaria Cavaliere, Dario Costantino, Katia Gasparini, and Giulia Pellegrini.
With Fabula Litica, Marmomac once again affirmed that stone is far more than a material of the past—it is a source of creative rebirth, a bridge between memory and innovation.
