Combined transports is the new Turkish bet

One of Turkey’s major terminals, the DP World Yarimca, has been linked by train to London and the Chinese cities since Tuesday, July 30.

On the occasion of the inauguration of this major infrastructure project, Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mehmet Cahit Turhan, said a total of about $ 23.84 billion has already been invested in upgrading their transport sector to take full advantage of its location of great importance.

He noted that essentially the port of Yarimca, which is located in the industrial district of Kocaeli, is becoming a maritime hub from which every corner of Turkey can be reached.

On his part, Kris Adams, head of DP World Yarimca Terminal, stressed that the port plays an important role in connecting the European with the Chinese market, and revealed that in the future the company plans to invest $ 600 million in the port in order to boost exports.
