Margraf, originally founded as Industria Marmi Vicentini and established more than a century ago in 1906 in Chiampo, in the province of Vicenza, continues its expansion strategy with the acquisition of Santafiora, a company that has been active for over fifty years in the extraction and processing of stone materials for prestigious architectural and urban projects in Italy and abroad.
The transaction represents a strategic investment that further consolidates Margraf’s position on the global market, enabling the company to directly and fully control every stage of the production chain — from quarrying and processing to distribution across international markets. This acquisition strengthens supply-chain control and enriches Margraf’s product portfolio with natural materials of high technical and aesthetic value.
The integration of Santafiora into the Margraf Group aims to enhance production capacity through the synergy between Margraf’s advanced technologies and the long-established know-how developed in quarrying environments. This combination allows the company to preserve tradition while driving innovation, efficiency and sustainability.
As a result of the acquisition, Santafiora, Lavagrigia and Lavarosa become exclusive Margraf materials, expanding the range available to architects, designers and builders seeking solutions that combine aesthetic quality, technical performance and authenticity. The Santafiora material, in particular, stands out for its outstanding technical and visual characteristics: certified hardness and compactness, resistance to water and saline agents, high adaptability to different climatic conditions and exceptional versatility for both indoor and outdoor applications — from façades and cladding to urban paving and spa environments.
“With this acquisition, we aim to strengthen our commitment to excellence and to the enhancement of Italy’s natural resources by offering the market a truly unique material,” says Roberto Xompero, CEO of Margraf. “The Santafiora and Lavagrigia quarries represent an extraordinary heritage of quality and tradition, which the company intends to preserve and develop through innovation, sustainability and expertise.”
In addition to its own quarries located in Italy and Slovenia, Margraf imports materials from 30 different countries, offering one of the most extensive selections in the sector for construction and architecture — from interior finishes to external façades, as well as furnishing elements for bathrooms, kitchens and outdoor spaces. In 2025, the company achieved revenues of €82.6 million, marking an 18% increase compared to 2024, and employs 174 people.
Alongside its industrial growth, Margraf has long been committed to promoting culture through projects and collaborations with artists and international institutions. Environmental responsibility also remains a core value, reflected in continuous investments aimed at minimizing environmental impact — from state-of-the-art equipment and landscape restoration projects to significant efforts in energy efficiency and the use of renewable resources.
