The 59th edition of Marmomac has wrapped up in Verona, confirming once again its status as the world’s leading event for the natural stone industry.
For four days, Veronafiere became the global hub of the stone market, hosting over 1,400 exhibitors from 54 countries and more than 50,000 professional visitors from 140 nations. Marmomac continues to stand as the top international meeting point for business, innovation, and culture across the entire stone-technology supply chain.
Italy’s marble industry reaffirmed its position as the world’s second-largest exporter of natural stone, accounting for 14% of global exports and generating €3.1 billion in value.
The 2025 opening ceremony was attended by Tommaso Foti, Italy’s Minister for European Affairs, Cohesion Policies, and the PNRR, highlighting the fair’s role as a strategic industrial policy tool for the country.
This year’s theme — the so-called “marble diplomacy” — reflected Marmomac’s ability to connect businesses, institutions, and markets in an increasingly complex global landscape. The signing of two cooperation agreements between Italy, Algeria, and Ethiopia marked the creation of technological centres dedicated to marble, ornamental stones, and vocational training.
“Marmomac shows how Italy can transform an industry into a platform for international relations and shared growth,” said Federico Bricolo, President of Veronafiere. “Thanks to the collaboration with Confindustria Marmomacchine and the Italian Trade Agency, we strengthened the presence of buyers and foreign delegations. Italian marble districts, starting with the Verona Stone District, showcased their expertise on a truly global stage. Marmomac is more than a trade fair — it’s where industrial policy meets territorial identity, celebrating excellence across the entire sector.”
Figures confirm the strength of the format: attendance remained steady compared to the record 2024 edition, while the share of international visitors grew to over 66%. The top markets represented were Germany, Spain, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and India, with significant growth from China (+3%), Canada (+20%), and the Arabian Peninsula (+20%).
For the first time, total exhibition space surpassed 76,000 m², boosted by the addition of the Gallerie Mercatali alongside the 12 halls and 8 outdoor areas. A highlight was the debut of Hall 1, entirely dedicated to Brazil, in line with the expansion of the Marmomac Brazil project.
“Marmomac continues to be the world benchmark for natural stone — not only a thriving marketplace but also a strategic platform that builds global partnerships,” noted Adolfo Rebughini, General Manager of Veronafiere. “Here, the timeless beauty of stone meets the passion of its artisans and the technology that enhances its emotional power. Marmomac is where business, innovation, and culture come together — and the extraordinary participation from every continent confirms Verona as the global hub of the industry.”
Alongside its business dimension, Marmomac further strengthened its cultural and educational role. The Marmomac & The City initiative, in collaboration with ArtVerona, brought installations and artworks into the city centre, merging art, design, and stone. Partnerships with universities and design schools were also reinforced through workshops, exhibitions, and awards, engaging students and young designers — a real investment in the future of the industry that combines creativity, technology, and new visions.
The next edition of Marmomac will take place at Veronafiere from 22 to 25 September 2026, marking a milestone 60th anniversary and further confirming its global leadership. Meanwhile, the international expansion continues with Marmomac Brazil, scheduled in São Paulo from 24 to 26 February 2026.
