One of the leading global players in the natural stone industry, Turkey, will not be participating in StoneMart 2026, India’s flagship international stone exhibition set to take place in Jaipur from February 12 to 15. The decision marks a notable shift, given Turkey’s traditionally strong presence at the event.
As reported by the Times of India, the organisers of the exhibition, Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB), have decided not to extend an invitation to Turkish companies this year. The move, according to LUB officials, comes in response to “prevailing sentiments in the country,” though no specific geopolitical incidents were cited.
Turkey has long been considered a dominant force in the global dimensional stone trade and has frequently showcased its products prominently at previous editions of StoneMart. The absence of Turkish exhibitors is expected to be significant, particularly given the country’s reputation for high-quality marble and stone exports.
In place of Turkey, the event will focus on participation from 13 other countries, with China expected to have a strong presence—especially in the machinery segment. According to the organisers, Chinese companies have shown considerable interest and are expected to exhibit advanced equipment for stone processing and finishing.
