From 21 September to 11 October, the historic city of Verona is set to host a unique cultural experience. On the occasion of Marmomac 2026, the Marmomac and The City initiative brings the natural stone culture beyond the fairground boundaries, transforming Verona’s historic centre into a breathtaking open-air museum.
Artistic Direction & Synergy of Historic Stone Districts
Under the artistic direction of Domenico Raimondi, the 2026 edition takes on a powerful dynamic. Resulting from a collaboration with White Carrara, the project strengthens the connection between major stone-processing regions by bringing together the municipalities of Verona, Carrara, and Pietrasanta in a shared celebration of Made in Italy excellence.
A Contemporary Dialogue Between Art and Architecture
Internationally renowned designers, artists, and leading stone companies are joining forces to create installations, artworks, and urban furnishings. These creations reinterpret natural stone through a contemporary lens, blending research, technological innovation, and design culture with Verona’s rich architectural heritage.
More than an exhibition, Marmomac and The City is an immersive cultural project. It highlights design as a tool for urban transformation, offering residents and visitors a fresh way to explore the city through a material that remains a defining symbol of Italian craftsmanship.
