A large increase was recorded in the exports of stone sawing and grinding machines of Italy, signaling the return to pre-coronavirus levels. The statistics of the first six months of 2021, show that exports of sawing machines are the highest in the last five years while grinding machines reached the levels of 2019.
In the table below we see the changes (%) in the value of exports between first half of 2020 – 2021 and first and second trimester of 2021.
In the sawing machines (Hs Code: 84641000) the value of exports in the first half of 2021 reached 100 million euros compared to the approximately 63 million euros in the first half of 2020. The increase is mainly due to the increase in exports to the USA , the United Kingdom, Portugal and Egypt.
In the grinding machines (Hs Code: 84642080) the value of exports in the first half of 2021 exceeded 52 million euros compared to the approximately 28 million euros in the first half of 2020. The increase is mainly due to the increase in exports to the USA. , Israel, Brazil, France and Germany.
