At The Plus Theatre, within the framework of the international exhibition Marmomac, the award ceremony of the Premio Donna del Marmo 2025 took place, a prestigious initiative now in its 19th edition.

The award, established by the Associazione Le Donne del Marmo – an association of women holding key roles in the marble sector, including entrepreneurs, architects, engineers, geologists, and journalists – aims to recognize individuals contributing to the promotion of marble culture and creativity.

This year’s award was presented to architect Cristina Morbi, founder of the London-based studio Maetherea. Morbi was honored for her research on the interaction between natural stone, water, and vegetation, as well as for her work “Lithic Cords / Corda Litica”, showcased at the Venice Biennale. The project explores the dynamic relationship between stone and the elements of nature, proposing a dialogue between the material and the intangible.

As part of the recognition, Morbi received the artwork “Evocazioni”, crafted in Bardiglio Cappella marble by Magister Commacino Frans Ferzini. This piece serves as the tangible symbol of the award, reflecting the acknowledgment and prestige of the distinction.

During the event, two new ambassadors were also announced: Hilal Icsoz and Renato Dal Corso.

The awards were presented by the President of Veronafiere, Federico Bricolo, and the General Manager, Adolfo Rebughini.

The Premio Donna del Marmo highlights the decisive role of women in shaping the present and future of architecture, design, and the marble industry, emphasizing the value of a diverse perspective and innovation.
